1. Introduction

PlayToday ("PlayToday," "we," "us") operates a mobile application and website that help players discover and book sports stadium reservations, organise games, track their player profile, and connect with other players. Stadium owners use PlayToday to manage their venue availability and reservations.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information. It applies to the PlayToday mobile app, the website at playtoday.com, and the related backend services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of PlayToday, and a limited amount of information about your device.

Account information

• Name, email address, and phone number
• Password (stored in hashed form — we never store it in plain text)
• Profile details you choose to add, such as your preferred playing position, city, age, and avatar
• Whether you signed up as a player or as a stadium owner, and any ownership details for the stadiums you manage

Activity and gameplay data

• Reservations, registrations, and games you create or join
• Player stats, achievements, ratings, and activity history within the app
• Social interactions — players you follow, follow requests sent and received, and searches you run
• Notifications you receive and read

Device and usage data

• Device type, operating system, and app version, used for support and to diagnose crashes
• Approximate location, when you use features that surface nearby stadiums or open maps to a venue. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
• Basic analytics about how the website is used (collected via Vercel Analytics), such as the pages visited and aggregate traffic. This data is not used to identify you personally.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and operate your PlayToday account
• Provide the core service — booking stadium time, organising games, showing your stats and achievements, and helping you connect with other players
• Send you transactional notifications (reservation confirmations, follow requests, game updates)
• Communicate with you about support requests, important account changes, or material updates to the service
• Maintain the security of the platform, prevent abuse, and debug problems
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal information only in the limited cases below.

• With other PlayToday users. Your name, profile details, stats, achievements, and games you participate in are visible to other players to the extent the app is designed to show them. Stadium owners see the player information necessary to manage a reservation.
• With service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to run PlayToday — for example, cloud hosting (Fly.io), website hosting and analytics (Vercel), and email delivery. These providers only process your data on our behalf and under contract.
• For legal reasons. If we are required by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of PlayToday or others, we may disclose information to the relevant authority.
• In a business transfer. If PlayToday is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any change in ownership or use of your data.

5. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your information
• Export a copy of your data in a portable, commonly-used format

7. Children

PlayToday is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information — encrypted connections (HTTPS) for traffic between your device and our servers, hashed password storage, and access controls on our backend. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and respond quickly if we ever learn of a breach.

9. International transfers

PlayToday is operated from Tripoli, Lebanon, and our infrastructure providers operate servers in multiple regions. If you access PlayToday from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred across borders. We take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected wherever it is processed.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of PlayToday after an update means you accept the revised policy.
